I have used the services of Julia of Sustainable Development throughout 2007 as we structured and launched OPITO the Oil & Gas Academy. The contribution she has made to the organisation has been significant & measurable. Her innovative thinking, professionalism, drive and personal energy not only helped deliver a major pan-industry oil & gas initiative (Skills Screening) but she also helped build a very powerful team culture with the organisation. I only wish I could have convinced her to join us as a staff member but as often the case with dynamic people they prefer to freelance. I fully expect to use her services in 2008 & beyond and we seek to make the Oil & Gas Academy the success it deserves to be.

I was involved with Julia of Sustainable Development over 2 year period whilst Macphie of Glenbervie was a key partner in an innovative European Funded Project called ‘Use of Industry Experts’. The project was successful because of the highly motivated & focused leadership of Julia of Sustainable Development. During the 2 years she demonstrated her ability to lead, control & deliver. One of the main outcomes for Macphie was that Julia supported a retiring individual who held key knowledge & experience that the organisation wanted to retain. Julia worked closely with this individual and was able to help extract this knowledge which was then developed into a format for training purposes. This was not easy task at best, but was more difficult given that the individual concerned was not known for voluntary communication. The outcome was rewarding for the participant and extremely useful to us a as a company. Julia also designed and delivered development in the form of Coaching & Mentoring to key individuals in organisations in both face to face and online formats so those individuals could continue to be connected to their specific industry sector and where they could impart their extensive knowledge and experience. Julia was also instrumental in developing an online testing tool which again used the transfer of knowledge of key individuals into a format which supports recruitment training, development and base-line competence. Julia has a wide and varied knowledge & experience in the field of People Development and HR Management, her commitment and professionalism ensure the success of the projects which she undertakes.

Within Petrofac Training we ran a learning programme in Coaching & Supervisory Skills to equip foreign nationals with knowledge and skills that would improve their day to day supervision and interaction with both their fellow and expat workers. Julia of Sustainable Development offered a range of exercises that would support the overall aims, particularly in relation to the Coaching of others. The material was tailored to the cultural sensitivities (in this case Libyan). Julia was very adaptable in producing a programme to meet specific client needs. The course delivery was highly interactive and Julia was able to get good participation from the learners, most of who were not used to this style of learning. The course was very practical and there was very positive feedback from the participants. Julia’s extensive knowledge of the Oil & Gas Industry and practical problems that supervisors may encounter and how to overcome them was highly evident from the planning, course content and professional delivery. I would certainly recommend Julia’s work to others.
